roofing contractors with out slate and tile experiance

Today we will get into the importance of hiring a roofing contractor, that has a extensive slate and tile background. We cant stress this enough! I got with Scott Morrow, of Scott Morrow Slate & tile Roofing Who is a slate and tile roofing company out of Atlanta Georgia, and asked him to help us illustrate this portion of our informative blog. He has given us some great examples of our case in point.

Now when you hire a contractor with out slate and tile experience there are a few things that he will lack besides experience
It requires proper tools to work on slate and tile just to be able to remove the slate or tile properly with out damaging anything. And if they are not experienced in slate and tile then most likely they will not have these tools.

Also, a slate and tile roofing contractor will have the right material for the job. Lets go to our first illustration provided by Scott Morrow Slate & Tile Roofing.

This is a great example of a roofer who has no slate and tile background. What they did here was use roofing tar to fix the problem. He didn't have the right tools to remove the broken slate and he also dident have the slate to replace what he took out if he had removed the broken ones.
So he did what every roofing contractor does who has no slate and tile background, He pulls out a bucket of tar!!!
Lets move on to the next illustration shall we?
Some contractors will use roofing felt to fix it and once its exposed to the elements long enough it will fail and if the wind is strong enough it will move the parts that are not fastened.
And once again the bucket of tar is pulled out to fix a broken piece instead of removing it and replacing it properly. and once it is exposed to the elements and fails you have the same problem again and you will have to pay some one again to fix it. and if you keep getting the wrong contractor you will repeat this over and over.

And now lets talk about unnecessary damage caused by inexperienced contractors, who don't know how to walk properly on a slate or tile roofing system. You will hire some one to come fix a leak, and they will get up there walking around and brake tiles or slate from walking on it wrong, and most of the time not even tell you about it and just pull out the bucket of tar. And then you have fixed the one leak but made five more you will be paying for down the line. Hire the right contractor to work on and maintain your slate and tile roofs, It will save you money and head aches.
Lets show you some illustrations of  contractors walking wrong on a slate and tile roof.
We would like to thank Scott Morrow Of Scott Morrow Slate & Tile Roofing of Atlanta for providing the pictures for this blog to help educate every one with the importance of hiring the right contractor if you have a slate or tile roofing system.

  1. Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Many thanks! check over here
